Full Support Healthcare accepts the responsibility for production and distribution of our range of products in an energy efficient way which protects the environment. Our policies are aimed at minimising the amounts of pollutants released into air, water and land and where possible using sustainable resources.

While not mandatory, we sustain an Environmental Management System according to EN ISO 14001:2004 in order to be an ethical industrial steward of our community, and to meet developing national and international standards.

We take our responsibilities as a manufacturer and distributor very seriously and always strive to improve our practices. We are proud of our environmental initiatives which go above and beyond our statutory obligations and strive to minimize any negative impact on the environment. One such initiative is the Green Route Project.

Green Route Project

Green Route is an exciting project which aims to improve the carbon efficiency of FSH's operations. In particular we are focusing on the network optimization of our UK logistical operations, fleet renewal, energy efficiency and, most importantly, our customer interface.

The initiative centres on the reorganization of order processing and fulfillment. Optimizing this procedure across the UK will bring significant benefits in terms of the reduction of CO2 emissions. Key objectives of the scheme include:          

• To improve our CO2 efficiency by 30 per cent by 2020 (10 per cent by 2012).
• Working with our supply chain to reduce emissions through the supply chain.
• To consolidate deliveries in order to reduce the number of multiple drops a week per customer site.

We are currently working with NHS Trusts to implement this new initiative during 2010/2011.
