We looked to use Full Support Healthcare's essential procedure packs to further enhance our efforts to improve efficiencies and quality of service at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC).
The EOC based at Epsom Hospital is the largest hip and knee arthroplasty centre in the UK and is recognised as a centre of excellence for its model of care and clinical outcomes. The EOC has a philosophy that is quality driven and quality focussed, and since our conception I have worked closely with the surgeons and wider team to ensure the right processes were in place and the right products available.
Procedure packs have enabled us as a specialist centre to improve patient transition and theatre set up time allowing us to complete additional procedures in a day without any compromise or reduction in clinical time spent with patients. This has been evidenced by a decrease in waiting lists.
There are so many elements involved in the procedures we carry out, and procedure packs have played a key part in creating further efficiencies through standardising processes and items used. We have also been able to reduce hidden costs which ultimately go back into patient care.
In addition to this, Full Support have taken time to understand our processes and look to see how they can best assist us; in my experience this would seem to be its company philosophy.
Steve Thomas - Director, South West London NHS Elective Orthopaedic Centre
It is over a year now since we changed to disposable gowns and drapes, making the Trust substantial savings. All theatre users are extremely pleased and impressed by the quality of these products, especially the Easilite Comfort gowns which give the same level of protection as our old gowns but are lighter and more comfortable to wear. This is the case whether we are scrubbed for a short case or one of longer duration. Keep up the good work!
Terri Mountjoy - Theatre Sister, St George's Healthcare NHS Trust
Since adopting the FSH micro-puncture endovenous pack we have been able to significantly reduce waste as the items have been carefully selected with input from surgeons across the UK. We have never failed to cannulate with the micro-puncture access needle, where as before we would need to open additional kits for around 1 in 5 cases. This is a significant improvement for both clinical practice and efficiencies for the Trust. I use the FSH micro-puncture pack in all my NHS and private clinics and couldn't be happier with the way in which it has enhanced practice. We are delighted that through purchasing the packs we can also support the Circulation Foundation vascular charity.
Mr Andrew Parry - Consultant and Vascular Specialist, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust
We have been very happy with all the work FSH has put in for West Herts. The theatre manager has expressed to me how pleased she was with the time and effort they put in there, and we are in the process of introducing Full Support products into the trust.
Grant Thrussell - Senior Buyer, Hertfordshire NHS Supply Management Confederation
I was very impressed with the professionalism knowledge and determination of the FSH staff working with the Trust's project team, helping to drive through and deliver a quality product across multiple areas, presenting significant saving to the Trust.
Craig Stephens - Senior Procurement Category Manager, The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust
We standardized the majority of our disposal drapes and gowns to FSH in 2005 following a lengthy trial evaluation period. Since this time we have developed our working relationship which has included development of some of the FSH lines within our Trust. In conjunction with relevant clinical people together with FSH we have now got in place products which "do the job" and represented a significant cost saving.
FSH is led by an experienced, knowledgeable, innovative and forward looking CEO, and this philosophy is evident from the FSH product portfolio.
In summary FSH represents excellent value for money products from a company that listens to its customers. These products are acceptable in the majority of clinical applications encountered by my busy acute general hospital.
Jim Kennett - Clinical Procurement Specialist Nurse, Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Many years ago our Trust converted from cotton linen to disposable gowns and drapes. SMS, we soon learnt, was the fabric of choice as this was the one that was least likely to lint and we did not want to introduce any random fibres into either a traumatic injury/wound or an elective operation site due to the potential consequences.
The linting became apparent to us several months after converting fully to an SMS based product, when we noticed for example an absence of coloured dust on surfaces when damp dusting etc. We have done much work in theatre at Peterborough on latex so it is good to know that all the products from FSH are latex-free.
A real benefit is the fluid repellency, as trauma is my specialty we often have significant amounts of washout and it is important to know that the fluid will be repelled and not absorbed by gowns.
I have found FSH to be very supportive and responsive e.g. the procedure gown was manufactured at our request and we have a bespoke ENT drape. I am very satisfied with the products I use and would not change from an SM product to another fabric without exceptional reasons.
Ann Kaleda - Sister, Peterborough & Stamford Hospitals NHS Trust
In May 2006 Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust conducted a trial with FSH's single use drapes and gowns alongside other companies. Your company representatives were very helpful in carefully planning the trial and working with the nursing staff and surgeons to determine the desired types and different size surgical drapes and gowns required. We found the gowns and drape easy to handle, safe, comfortable and adaptable to the body to expose the preferred incision site and to isolate from unsterile surrounding areas which is a very important link in preventing wound infections.
Since the trial we have found FSH supportive and reliable in supplying the chosen drape and gowns. At present we are satisfied with the price set for purchasing and feel that the gowns and drapes satisfy the needs of surgery, especially in orthopaedics/trauma. Thank you for all your support over the past two years and we hope we can continue to work together in future.
Sandra Martin - Operational Manager, Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust
I have just returned from Ghana and three surgeons performed just over a hundred procedures and trained four residents, in five (very long) days. Thank you for your kind support with the disposable gowns.
These sort of humanitarian missions are impossible without your support. It was a most fulfilling week and I am looking forward to going again next year.
Adeshina Sergei Fawole MD FRCS - Consultant General & Gastrointestinal Surgeon, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
We are delighted to be working in partnership with FSH on the THINK PINK range of garments and we are looking forward to forging an extremely successful relationship.
Every 11 minutes, somebody will hear the news that they have breast cancer and we want to offer support to each and every one of them, and their friends and families, right from the moment of diagnosis, through to living with the disease.
FSH's support will not only generate vital funds, but will ensure more people know where to turn should they need us.

K2 Associates are very impressed with the easimask range. After a rigorous fit testing process these masks proved to be safe, comfortable, reliable - a superior product all round. We have no hesitation in recommending Full Support Healthcare's respirator masks to our clients.
During our dealings with FSH we found them to be knowledgeable, honest and willing to be incredibly flexible in order to meet our needs and those of our customers. They are a great team of people to work with.

We have recently worked with FSH to migrate our surgical gowns to the Easigown range. We found that FSH made the process very simple and they fully understood our key needs and motivations for change.
From a procurement perspective we are delighted to have realised savings of 20% against our previous gown supplier.
Tammie Purdue - Head of Purchasing & Supplies
Full Support Healthcare have worked closely with myself and my team at Bristol University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with the primary objective of identifying and implementing maximum cash releasing savings for the Trust through our Surgical Gown Supply.
FSH have worked hand in hand with the theatre teams, over multiple sites, to provide education on their products and application of correct gown protection levels for procedures.
Conversion to Full Support Healthcare's EASILITE Comfort range has enabled staff to work in comfort, without distraction. The full range of protection levels that Easilite Comfort provides ensures that clinical safety is maintained without compromising our financial targets.
As a Trust we have found the level of professionalism and ongoing support received from the company to be outstanding, it has allowed the conversion process to FSH appear seamless and problem free.
Annette Giles - Theatre Manager
It is over a year now since we changed over to disposable gowns and drapes making a saving of over £4,000 per year. All theatre users are extremely pleased and impressed by the quality of these products especially the gowns which give the same protection as the old type of gowns but are lighter and more comfortable to wear whether one is scrubbed for a short case or for one of longer duration. Keep up the good work.
Terri Mountjoy, Theatre Sister
I worked with FSH on a trust wide implementation project in the West Midlands. The entire team, from back office to implementation specialists, were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to work to our timelines and ensure a seamless conversion whilst delivering substantial savings. Their support on the front line and training for the teams backs up their desire to deliver best value for money and top clinical quality to the NHS. Overall, my experience of working with FSH has been incredibly positive, and I will look forward to working with them again in future.

We really couldn't run the courses without your support!
Providing high quality educational courses is central to our ethos as a charity for Surgical Trainee's, ASiT would like to thank Full Support Healthcare for their generous contribution.
Justice Reily - ASiT
We were delighted to receive a phone call from Full Support Healthcare last year offering their support to the charity - knowing the services that FSH provide it semed very apt. The company agreed to purchase 3000 white and pink lanyards that had been printed with both our logos for our 8th Annual Walk - the lanyards holding the walk medals. They looked very attractive and we received many complimentary comments from those who entered - which included a team from FSH, of course!
As a small charity we are always grateful for support from local companies - we are so pleased to have formed such a friendly relationship with the team there, and we hope that this will continue for a long time to come. One aspect of receiving support such as this is that we are able to learn more about how businesses run and FSH have made us aware of various initiatives and work-related issues that we can adapt. We wish them every success.
